Classroom Policies
Absences When your child is absent from school, you must send a note explaining the absence on the day he or she returns to school. If we do not receive an excuse note, your child's absence will be unexcused. In the case of extensive unexcused absences, a school counselor may contact you.
Behavior Expectations We have high expectations regarding student behavior in 4th grade. There is a behavior sheet for each Nine Week period, in your child's agenda, which will provide you with important behavior information. Please be sure to discuss your child's behavior with them and how they can make appropriate choices. Please sign the sheet every Friday! I appreciate your support.
Classroom Visits You are always invited into our 4th Grade classroom! Just let me know when you'd like to visit so we can agree on an appropriate time. When visiting our classroom or any other part of our school, please sign in at the front desk and get a "Visitor's Pass."
Birthdays You're welcome to send a birthday treat for our class to enjoy during lunch! If you choose to send a cake, please make sure it's already cut into individual pieces. Please do not send birthday party invitations to school unless there is an invitation for each child in class.
Lunch Money When sending lunch money, place the money or check in an envelope labeled with my name (Emmons), your child's name, and your child's student number. You can also pay for lunch at: www.mealpayplus.com
Transportation For your child's safety, please send a note to school if there is a change in your child's transportation (for example: if your child needs to be a car rider instead of a bus rider). The school will not let your child change transportation without a note. Please do your best to limit transportation changes, as it becomes confusing for your child and the school!
